Refrigerant R-600a
Residential Refrigerant Gas
R-600a (isobutane) is refrigerant-grade isobutane used as a replacement for R12 and R134a in a variety of high-temperature refrigeration applications. It has zero ozone depletion potential and a neglectible global warming potential. R-600a (isobutane) is a hydrocarbon that is becoming increasingly popular due to its low Global Warming Potential. It is the refrigerant of choice for domestic and light commercial refrigeration units, including fridges and freezers, drink dispensers and standalone display units.
APPLICATIONS:
- Domestic and Light Commercial Refrigeration Units
- Refrigerators and Freezers
- Drink Dispensers and Standalone Display Units
USAGE INSTRUCTIONS:
- Isobutane (a hydrocarbon) is used in small, stand-alone refrigeration appliances such as Commercial refrigerator/freezers, domestic refrigerators and display coolers. Several compressor oils can be used with the R600A, so it is probably not necessary to change the oil previously used in the equipment.
- R600a refrigerant can be charged from either the liquid and vapour phase.
- Due to its flammable nature R600a (isobutane) requires different charging & recovery procedures.
- It requires a semi synthetic or a blend of mineral and Alkylbenzene oil.
